APS Brake Disc - Black Steel

Overview

This brake disc is machined as a single forged piece rather than welded, giving it a grain structure that follows the disc contour for added strength and lower risk of cracking. It receives a proprietary heat treatment that chemically transforms the surface layer rather than coating it, producing the characteristic black finish along with resistance to corrosion and oxidation from repeated thermal cycling. This makes it suited to harsh operating conditions such as agricultural use or prolonged outdoor storage. The disc is manufactured under FAA PMA certification and has undergone dyno testing as part of that approval process.
